My Own Merchandise

Check these out.  We now have Taya Bayliss merchandise happening.

Right now we only have T shirts but other stuff is in production, like notebooks and drink bottles etc. if you have any ideas for merchandise, just let me know and I will see if I can make it happen.

Which T shirt do you like best?

There is the one with a medium size picture and Taya Bayliss above the picture and the name of the story underneath it.

Or there is the one with a large picture and the writing below.

So, tell me what you think.

It must have taken ages to paint those fingernails.

Back to School

It's time to go back to school. Summer holidays are over and the books have to come out again. I am in Year seven this year and I do my lessons by distance education which is like home school.

Because we have to travel about so often when Dad has to do his research trips, my parents decided that it would be best for me to be home-schooled. That way I would be able to do my school work wherever we were and I wouldn't miss out on any education.

My lessons come by post and by email and I have to send assignments in to my tutor.  It's kind of cool because I get a lot more free time. I do miss having classmates right there with me but I still have classmates. They are all over the country and we can chat online whenever we want to.

The best bit about going back to school is the new books and stationery.  I love pens and pencils and clean unused books.  I always start out the year being soooo neat in my notebooks and I really, really try to keep being neat but, by the end of Term One, my writing is not quite so neat and I have started to draw little pictures in the margins.

I like covering my books too  It can be a tricky thing to do.  Here is a video of how to put that sticky Contact paper on your books without ending up with a bubbly mess.

That should help you make your books look good.

Good luck in school this year.

Not for the Guys

The holidays are drawing to a close and it is super hot.  I really hope that things have cooled down a bit before we have to go back to school.  I hate trying to think when it is really hot.

What to do when it is so hot, is always a problem.  You can go swimming, if you are lucky enough to have a pool or live near the beach or you can play water games.
But you need inside activities to keep you busy too.

So…paint your nails.  Yes, I know that's a bit girly and I am not usually into really girly things but the nail art lessons over at Totally The Bomb are really fun and different.  Start out with the Puffle Nails and then you can go on to the dripping slime nails or maybe, the mermaid tail nails.

Look here to have a go at some nail art for yourselves.

A new adventure

Author E. J. Gore is hard at work on my latest adventure.  Sometimes she takes a long time to get the story told, so if you are impatient to read it, pester her about it.  You can contact her through this blog or at www.tayabaylissbooks.com .

At least the cover is looking good.  What do you think?

There will probably be a contest or giveaway coming up before the book is launched so watch out for that.

Bye.

Heat Wave

We are having a heat wave at the moment.  Summer is not my favourite time of year.  I don't like the sweaty hot days and, even worse, the sweaty hot nights.

But, since we have to put up with the weather, the best thing to do is have a water fight.

Unless you can get to the beach or into a swimming pool, squirt guns and water balloons are the best way I know to keep cool.

You need to set up the battle field a bit before you start the game so that there are places to hide and targets that have to be captured.  Whatever happens to be in the area works…trees, sheds, post boxes, even cars. Don't tell Dad I said that.  He is not overly pleased when his car has traces of water balloon all over it.  Eek!

Then, once you have the rules organised - like who is on which team and what needs to be captured and what happens when you are hit etc.- it's on.  Get wet, have fun, stay cool.

Most of the $2 shops sell water balloons and squirt guns.  You can get really super duper models or just simple ones like in the picture. as long as you have a ready supply of water for refills, you're set.

Go for it!!

Book Goodies

Taya's adventures are on sale over at E. J. Gore's website at the moment. You can purchase them separately or in packs of two or three.

Cool, eh?

Treasure Hunter with Code Breaker.

Taya has to solve the mystery all by herself in Treasure Hunter but Chris is there for moral support in Code Breaker.

Treasure Hunter with Dog Sitter.

This is the most popular combination at the moment, I believe.

Dog Sitter is the book where we meet Chris for the first time and, of course, the fabulous Minette.

Dog Sitter with Code Breaker.

These both feature Taya working with Chris to solve the mystery.

Or why not grab the whole set for only $25?  Bargain!

Another great place to look for Christmas gift ideas is the Book Goodies Gift Guide 2013.
Find it here.
You will find books for all ages in the guide.

Better get in fast though - Christmas is only 10 days away and you need to allow time for your books to be delivered.
