Table top Christmas Trees
Hello Everyone.
Today let's make a Christmas tree that can be used as a cute decoration or even as a centrepiece for the table.
You are going to need:
A magazine about the size of The Australian Women's Weekly
Spray on paint (acrylic paint will do if you aren't allowed the spray stuff)
A stapler
Tinsel and maybe some little decorations
Glue
You fold the magazine as shown in the picture below.
Once the whole magazine has been folded, staple the covers together to form a cone shape. This is the basic tree shape.
Now the fun part starts. You get to decorate the tree. You can paint it, like in the picture and add a pom-pom or star to the top.
I like to paint it green and then cover it with glue (either paste or very carefully use a hot glue gun).
Then I wind tinsel all around it so that it is totally sparkly. It looks really terrific!!
Have fun making these little Christmas trees and decorating them. Send me some pictures when you are done.
Bye now.
Taya.

Two Free Reading Sites for Kids
Today I have a couple of free sites for you to try out.
The first one is Storyline Online.
The first one is Storyline Online.
This site features well-known actors and actresses reading some of their favorite children’s books. Each story comes with a free Activity Guide and can be viewed on YouTube or SchoolTube. Rainbow Fish, Wilfrid Gordon Macdonald Partridge, and To Be a Drum are just a few of the books available.
Next is Read to Me.
This is similar to Storyline Online. Actors read stories and there are activity guides and craft ideas for you to work on.
At the beginning is a little introduction video to explain how the site works.
Have at look at these sites and enjoy some stories. Don't forget to tell me which ones you liked best.
Bye.
Taya
